ENIAROF est une fête foraine revisitée, une plateforme expérimentant d’autres modes d’interaction avec le public. Elle interroge ce que serait une fête foraine aujourd’hui, avec les mêmes critères d’innovations ludiques que celles du siècle dernier, qui ont vu naître le cinéma, l’ascenseur ou encore la barbe à papa.

Les créateurs de chaque édition d’Eniarof s’inspirent des cultures populaires anciennes et émergentes, en suivant les règles du “Dogmeniarof”. Ils mêlent joyeusement et sans complexe des domaines tels que le karaoké, la lucha libre, les jeux vidéo, les installations et performances artistiques, les séries B et les cabinets de curiosités pour donner naissance à un monstre amical, mais éphémère, à plusieurs têtes — uniquement définissable sous la dénomination : « cette Chose qu’on appelle Eniarof ».

Lancé à l’initiative d’Antonin Fourneau en 2005, sous la supervision de Douglas Edric Stanley, l’événement se renouvelle depuis, en France et à l’étranger, parfois même plusieurs fois par an. ENIAROF est aussi l’occasion de concevoir des projets autrement, lors d’ateliers organisés avant chaque événement. La fête foraine en étant le point culminant, après plusieurs semaines intenses de préparation.

En utilisant les bénéfices du bar de la précédente édition d’Eniarof, une délégation d’anciens étudiants de l’École d’art d’Aix-en-Provence s’est rendue à Maribor, en Slovénie, pour inaugurer à Pekarna, un nouvel espace artistique à l’initiative d’OTTO-Prod. Le groupe s’est immergé pendant une semaine dans la communauté de ce lieu culturel afin de développer de nouvelles attractions et de présenter le meilleur de l’édition précédente.

ENIAROF is a revisited funfair, a platform experimenting with other modes of interaction with the public. It questions what a funfair would be today with the same criteria of fun innovations as the fairgrounds of the last century and which saw the birth of cinema, elevators or even cotton candy.

The creators of each Eniarof are inspired by ancient and emerging popular cultures around the rules of “Dogmeniarof”. Joyfully and unabashedly meet areas such as karaoke, lucha libre, video games, installations and artistic performances, B movies, and cabinet of curiosities to give birth to a friendly, but ephemeral, monster with heads, only definable under the denomination “this Thing which one names Eniarof”.

On the initiative of Antonin Fourneau in 2005 under the supervision of Douglas Edric Stanley. The event has been renewed for until now, both in France and abroad sometime more than one time by year. ENIAROF is also an opportunity to design new projects differently during workshops organized before each event. The fun fair being the culmination point of these intense weeks of preparation.

By using the profits from the precedent Eniarof bar, a delegation of former students from the Art school of Aix-en-Provence traveled to Maribor, Slovenia to inaugurate in Pekarna, a new art venue initiated by OTTO-Prod. The group immersed themselves in the community of this cultural space for a week to develop new attractions and present the best of the previous edition.
