NATURE ORDONNÉE

ATELIER OUVERT

Sur une invitation d’Art-cade, du Festival GAMERZ 2016, et dans le cadre de l’exposition « Univers Simulés », l’artiste installe son atelier dans la Galerie des Grands Bains Douches de la Plaine pour y présenter ses recherches en cours ainsi que les dernières réalisations du projet à long terme Nature Ordonnée.

Vous êtes chaleureusement invités à rencontrer l’artiste en travail dans son atelier du mardi au dimanche de 17h à 19h.

« Au cœur de la ruche, les reines engendrent des ouvrières et les ouvrières produisent des reines. Une colonie est donc immortelle même si les individus qui la constituent sont mortels. Or l’abeille est aujourd’hui également devenue un symbole de la dégradation exponentielle des habitats naturels, de l’état général de la nature et son dépérissement certain. Un scénario apocalyptique, légende urbaine attribuée par erreur à Albert Einstein, entraine l’abeille et sa disparition prochaine vers l’extinction de l’espèce humaine. Une dystopie écologique dont la butineuse est centrale, gardienne d’un équilibre précaire, vient transformer l’imaginaire collectif humain et ses symboles d’infini.

Par opposition à l’incontestable «ordre naturel des choses», « nature ordonnée » s’interroge ainsi sur la relation réversive entre la société humaine et les organisations animales ; l’ascendance de l’une sur les autres, mais aussi l’interpénétration de leurs systèmes et comportements, dont le dessein commun est la survie. Modules chimériques, conquête spatiale, Palais Sociétaire, entomologie, architecture utopique, géométrie, système politique, camouflage constituent un ensemble indéfini de mes diverses approches du sujet. »

OPEN STUDIO

At the invitation of Art-cade & the GAMERZ Festival 2016, and as part of the “Univers Simulés” exhibition, the artist is setting up her studio at the Galerie des Grands Bains Douches de la Plaine to present her current research and the latest achievements of her long-term project Nature Ordonnée.

You are cordially invited to meet the artist at work in her studio from Tuesday to Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m.

« At the heart of the hive, queens give birth to workers, and workers produce queens. A colony is therefore immortal, even if the individuals that make it up are mortal. Today, however, the bee has also become a symbol of the exponential degradation of natural habitats, the general state of nature, and its certain decline. An apocalyptic scenario, an urban legend mistakenly attributed to Albert Einstein, links the bee and its imminent disappearance to the extinction of the human species. An ecological dystopia in which the forager bee plays a central role, guardian of a precarious balance, transforms the collective human imagination and its symbols of infinity.

In contrast to the indisputable “natural order of things,” “nature ordonnée” questions the reversible relationship between human society and animal organizations; the ascendancy of one over the other, but also the interpenetration of their systems and behaviors, whose common goal is survival. Chimeric modules, space conquest, Societary Palace, entomology, utopian architecture, geometry, political system, camouflage constitute an undefined set of my various approaches to the subject. »

Luce Moreau est artiste plasticienne, photographe, vidéaste et commissaire. Ses récentes préoccupations artistiques sortent du champ de la lumière et du spatial pour entamer un projet à long terme faisant se côtoyer l’observation du vivant, les relations inter-espèces, l’utopie communautaire et les nouveaux imaginaires dans un paradigme mondial changeant. Demeurent l’observation sensible de phénomènes naturels, ainsi que l’aspect expérimental de son approche. Différents temps de résidences artistiques en situations exceptionnelles ont donné lieu à des réalisations très spécifiques, permettant à l’artiste d’approfondir ses questionnements plastiques tant par empirisme que par la réflexion et l’observation.

Luce Moreau is a visual artist, photographer, videographer, and curator. Her recent artistic interests have moved beyond the fields of light and space to embark on a long-term project that brings together the observation of living beings, inter-species relationships, communal utopia, and new imaginaries in a changing global paradigm. What remains is the sensitive observation of natural phenomena and the experimental aspect of her approach. Various artistic residencies in exceptional contexts have given rise to very specific creations, allowing the artist to deepen her artistic questioning through both empiricism and reflection and observation.
