Dans la continuité de ses initiatives culturelles entre la France et la Slovénie, l’équipe d’OTTO-Prod se mobilise autour de la troisième Saison de production artistique Working Holidays 2012 dans la ville slovène de Maribor.

La saison Working Holidays 2012 est produite par OTTO-Prod dans le cadre du programme « Cultural Ambassies » de Maribor 2012 et Marseille-Provence 2013. En partenariat avec Nikon Slovénie, Renault Slovénie, le centre culturel Pekarna, avec le soutien de l’Institut Français Slovénie, Ljubljana et l’Institut Français Paris, la Ville de Marseille.

In the framework of the cultural activities initiated between France and Slovenia, the association OTTO-Prod presents the Art Production Season Working Holidays 2012, in the slovene city, Maribor.

The Art Production Season Working Holidays 2012 is carried out by OTTO-Prod in the frame of the programme « Cultural Ambassies » by Maribor 2012 and Marseille-Provence 2013. In partnership with Nikon Slovenia, Renault Slovenia, the Cultural Centre Pekarna Magdalenske Mreže, with the support of the French Institute in Ljubljana, Institut Français of Paris, the city of Marseille.

V okviru kulturnih dejavnosti, ki potekajo med Francijo in Slovenijo, je združenje OTTO-Prod sestavilo prihajajoč umetniško produkcijski program: Working Holidays 2012, v slovenskem mestu Maribor.

Program Working Holidays 2012 je nastal v organizaciji OTTO-Prod v sodelovanju s Maribor 2012 in Marseille-Provence 2013,  Nikon Slovenija, Renault Slovenija, Kulturnim centrom Pekarna Magdalenske Mreže, ob podpori Francoskega inštituta v Ljubljana, Institut Français v Paris, mesta Marseille.

Les membres de l’association marseillaise OTTO-Prod  répondent à l’invitiation de l’Institut Français Slovénie de Ljubljana et investissent l’espace du Vetrinjski Dvor de Maribor avec une création originale. Dans la continuité de ses initiatives culturelles engagées depuis 2006 entre la France et la Slovénie, l’association propose une activation du lieu sous la forme d’un temps de résidence dédié à la création contemporaine. Avec l’ambition de présenter la scène artistique marseillaise sur le territoire slovène, l’équipe soutient le regard d’un artiste français, et l’accompagne durant cette expérience d’immersion répondant au contexte spécifique de la ville slovène. Expositions, portes ouvertes et rencontres seront autant d’opportunités d’explorer l’univers singulier de Fouad Bouchoucha et de ses oeuvres.

Les phénomènes sonores d’écho et de réverbération sont au centre des recherches de Fouad Bouchoucha, qu’il concentrera à cette occasion sur l’étude topographique de paysages slovènes par le biais du son. Les propriétés de réflexion et de persistance d’un son étant relatives à un espace précis, l’artiste se propose d’observer le potentiel de résonance de ces différents paysages, selon des degrés variables d’encaissement et de dégagement, et en les transformant littéralement en autant de caisses de résonances. En guise d’amorce à l’œuvre, l’artiste, dans un premier temps, utilisera un signal invariable émis et enregistré dans plusieurs environnements qui en modulent le son. Ces premières captations sonores serviront de base de réflexion à une formalisation plastique et permettront d’en observer la force de suggestion spatiale, impliquant autant les habitudes déductives liées à la mémoire, que les réflexes de reconstitution d’un paysage imaginaire.

The Marseille-based association OTTO-Prod  is invited by the French Institut Slovenia to develop an original art production in the specific site of Vetrinjski Dvor, Maribor, Slovenia.

In this framework, the association proposes an art residence time dedicated to contemporary creation forms as an activation of the city center with the ambition to develop the interactions between cultural scenes from France and Slovenia, that the association started to initiate since 2006 . OTTO-Prod ‘s team will host the artist and guest Fouad Bouchoucha and will follow the development of his work all along this time of immersion in the Slovene city. Exhibitions, public presentations, and several studio visits are planned as many opportiunities to discover the specific art universe of Fouad Bouchoucha and his work.

Fouad Bouchoucha dedicates his work to sound phenomenas, his researches leads him to focus on a mapping  study of  slovene landscapes through the medium of sound. Observing the modulation processes  of sound persistance and reverberation through the specificities of space, the guest artist measures the reverberation potential of different reliefs, and turns them into sound boards through their various characterisctics of embossment. For the artist, the first step will consist in emissions and recordings of the same signal within several natural environments. The several sound outputs will be then used as primary material for the mapping of physical shapes and space entailing tensions between our perception, memory and acoustic reflexes.

Člani marsejskega društva OTTO-Prod so se kot kakovostni producenti in umetniški pionirji radi odzvali vabilu Francoskega inštituta Slovenia in bodo svojo izvirno umetniško kreacijo umestili v prostor mariborskega Vetrinjskega dvora.

Z ciljem predstaviti marsejsko umetniško ustvarjanje slovenskemu občinstvu, želi združenje v sodelovanju z organizacijo »Marseille-Provence 2013« v Maribor povabiti marsejskega umetnika Fouada Bouchouchaja, ki bo deloval in ustvarjal tekom celotnega meseca maja 2012 v Vetrinjskem dvoru. V središču raziskav Fouada Bouchouchaja so zvočni pojavi odmeva in odseva.

V okviru rezidence bo raziskoval topografijo slovenske pokrajine preko zvoka. Glede na to, da so lastnosti odboja in trajnosti nekega zvoka odvisne od določenega prostora, bo umetnik opazoval potencial odmeva različnih pokrajin po variabilnih stopnjah zaprtosti ali odprtosti in jih bo spremenil v različne odzvočnike. V začetni fazi bo umetnik uporabil stalen signal, ki bo izdan in posnet v več prostorih. Na tak način bo zvok signala moduliran. Prve zvočne ulovi odo potem temelj razmišljanja za plastični razvoj. Tak način dela mogoča gledalcu, da opazuje vpliv na mentalno predstavitev nekega prostora, ki vključi tako deduktivne navade vezane na spomin kot reflekse, ki nas vodijo k rekonstrukciji miselnega prostora.

À travers des médiums allant de la sculpture, au théâtre, en passant par la vidéo, la performance ou le son, l’œuvre de Fouad Bouchoucha s’attache à mettre en place des dispositifs testant la potentialité des choses. Ses œuvres catalysent les possibles d’un objet, d’un lieu ou d’une situation. Elles rendent compte ou démultiplient des forces en présence. Souvent, la puissance (celle d’une Bugatti Veyron, celle de Ronnie « Mister Olympia » Coleman, celle d’un sound-system sur-doté…) se donne à lire à travers des objets plus ou moins transformés qui, gonflés à bloc, semblent pourtant avouer leur dysfonctionnement à venir. Portant notamment son intérêt sur différents types de pratiques culturelles ou sportives (le culturisme, le Sound Pressure Level…), Fouad Bouchoucha s’approprie leurs codes pour développer une œuvre nourrie de son temps. Sa production prend position sur un point d’équilibre, un endroit où tout peut encore basculer.

Through its use of mediums ranging from sculpture to theatre, and from video to performance to sound, Fouad Bouchoucha’s work focuses on creating systems that test the potentiality of things. His works catalyse the possibilities of an object, a place, or a situation. They summarise or multiply the forces involved. Often, power (of a Bugatti Veyron, of a Ronnie “Mister Olympia” Coleman, of an over-amplified sound system…) is interpreted through more or less transformed or pumped up objects – a condition that seems to betray their impending malfunction. Fouad Bouchoucha is particularly interested in various types of cultural and sports activities (body building, Sound Pressure Level…), and appropriates their codes in order to develop a deeply contemporary work. His production positions itself at a tipping point, where everything can still change.

Fouad Bouchoucha v svojih delih, ki segajo od kiparstva do gledališča, od videa do performansa in zvoka, ustvarja sisteme, ki preizkušajo potencial stvari. Njegova dela spodbujajo možnosti predmeta, prostora ali situacije. Povzemajo ali pomnožujejo sile, ki so vključene. Pogosto se moč (Bugattija Veyrona, Ronnieja »Mister Olympia« Colemana, prekomerno ojačanega zvočnega sistema…) interpretira skozi bolj ali manj preoblikovane ali napihnjene predmete – stanje, ki kaže na njihovo neizogibno okvaro. Fouad Bouchoucha se posebej zanima za različne vrste kulturnih in športnih dejavnosti (body building, Sound Pressure Level …) in si prisvaja njihove kode, da bi razvil globoko sodobno delo. Njegova produkcija se nahaja na prelomni točki, kjer se še vse lahko spremeni.

Dans le cadre du programme « Cultural Ambassies » mené par Maribor2012, OTTO-Prod amorce la résidence Paysages Topographiques avec Fouad Bouchoucha. Il présentera le travail vidéo Dromosphère suivi d’une documentation originale de sa dernière performance sonore Air de Jeu réalisée à Paris au Palais de Tokyo. Cet évènement sera l’occasion de rencontrer l’artiste en résidence et d’échanger sur les enjeux de ses productions actuelles.

In the framework of the Cultural Ambassies programme, OTTO-Prod launches the residence Topographical Landscapes by the french artist Fouad Bouchoucha with the screening of the video works Dromosphère followed by an original documentation from his latest sound performance Air de Jeu realized in Paris at Palais de Tokyo. This event will be the opportunity to meet the guest artist and his ongoing production.

V okviru programa Kulturna ambasada Francije, OTTO-Prod začenja z rezidenco Topografske pokrajine, Francoskega umetnika Fuada Bouchoucha. Projekciji videa Dromosphère sledi dokumentiranje projekcije zadnjega zvočnega performansa Air de Jeu realiziranega v Parizu v Palais de Tokyo. Dogodek bo priložnost za srečanje s gostujočim umetnikom in njegovo trenutno produkcijo.

OTTO-Prod a le plaisir de vous inviter à la soirée SPEED-DATA qui a lieu durant le Festival ANARH le 26 mai 2012 dans la friche culturelle Pekarna, à Maribor (Slovénie) ;  la programmation SPEED-DATA sera l’occasion de rencontres opportunes et transgenres le temps d’une nuit de harcèlement culturel. La soirée commencera par l’exposition d’une sélection de vidéos diffusée en avant-première dans la Galerie Hladilnica et destinée à être présentée par OTTO-Prod à la Galerie des Grands Bains Douches de Marseille (France) en septembre 2012. Ainsi, sous la forme d’une micro-résidence de création sonore, le label français Daath rejoint l’équipe d’OTTO-Prod afin d’exposer au public slovene leur adaptation électro-acoustique des oeuvres vidéos de Pascual Sisto (USA), Artie Vierkant (USA), Paul Destieu (FR) et Harm van den Dorpel (NL).

Plus tard dans la nuit, dans la salle de concert Gustaf les musiciens de DAATH s’uniront en la formation musicale Postcoïtum et leur set  Animal Triste. Suivra l’intervention bouchère de VJ MEAT du label V-Attack pour 45 minutes de mix audio-visuel vorace et subtilement brutal ; nous nous verrons enfin récompensés par le set booty tech Triple-A de DJ Rachid Adata. Le coeur conquis de la saison de production WORKING HOLIDAYS battra son plein à SPEED-DATA.

La soirée SPEED-DATA est une initiative de l’association OTTO-Prod durant le Festival ANARH qui a lieu les 25 et 26 mai 2012. Avec les soutiens de Pekarna MM et Institut Français Paris.

OTTO-Prod is pleased to invite you by the cultural center Pekarna, in the framework of ANARH Festival, at the event SPEED-DATA, an intense and promessfull « rendez-vous » for a one night programme flirting with visual art, sound and music performances. Dedicated to cultural harassment, this night will be the opportunity to discover an international and unique body of video works gathered in the gallery Hladilnica as an event-première of the show which will be later presented in Marseille, France. This exhibition will be the occasion to discover the sound creations by special guests from Daath label (FR) developed during their residence in Maribor. The three members of Daath group will perform electroaccoustic adaptations from the exhibited video works by the artists Pascual Sisto (USA), Artie Vierkant (USA), Paul Destieu (FR) and Harm van den Dorpel (NL) before to step into the concert hall of Gustaf with their original live music project Postcoïtum.

The event will take a 90° turn with the most subtil master of visual and sound bouchery VJ MEAT (FR) and his brutal immersive set. The night will then last on a booty tech Triple-A set by DJ Rachid Adata straightly imported from Paris : the heart of the production season Working Holidays will pulse more than ever at SPEED-DATA.

The SPEED-DATA evening is realised by OTTO-Prod in the framework of ANARH Festival, with the kind support of Pekarna MM and Institut Français of Paris.

OTTO-Prod vas z veseljem vabi v kulturni center Pekarna na intenziven in obetajoč zmenek, ki bo potekal med ANARH festivalom, in kjer se bo en večer spogledovalo z vizualno umetnostjo, zvokom in glasbeno predstavo. Posvečena kulturniškemu nadlegovanju, bo ta noč priložnost raziskati mednarodno in edinstveno telo video stvaritev, zbranih v galeriji. Hladilnica, kot premiera dogodka, bo kasneje predstavljena v Marseillu, Franciji. Razstava bo priložnost odkritja zvočnih kreacij posebnih gostov iz založbe Daath (FR), ustanovljene za časa  rezidence v Mariboru. Pred vstopom v dvorano Gustaf z v živo odigranim glasbenim projektom Postcoïtum, bodo trije člani skupine Daath uprizorili elektro-akustično priredbo predvajanega videa, dela umetnikov Pascual-a Sista (ZDA), Harm-a van den Dorpel-a (NL), Artie-a Viertkant-a (ZDA) in Paul-a Destieu-a (FR).

Nato se bo dogodek obrnil za 90° z najsubtilnejšim mojstrom vizualne in zvočne mesarije VJ MEATom (FR) in njegovim brutalno zatopljenim setom. Noč se bo nadaljevala z booty tech Triple-A setom DJ Rachid-a Adata, uvoženega neposredno iz Pariza. Srce produkcijske sezone Working Holidays bo na SPEED-DATA bilo kakor še nikoli prej.

SPEED-DATA večer izvajajo OTTO-Prod v okviru Festivala ANARH, s prijazno podporo zavoda Pekarna Magdalenske Mreže in Francoskega inštituta v Parizu.
